Bears don’t go looking for trouble, but trouble has a way of finding the ones who don’t back down.
This one was painted from a reference I took at a wildlife sanctuary, and I find it looks so sad, and so sweet. And one would almost want to pet it. It really wasn’t sad though. He was contentedly eating when I took this shot.
There’s something in that stare — calm, watchful, unimpressed. No performance. No bravado. Nothing to prove. Just the quiet confidence of something that knows exactly what it is.
Never let the sweet, sad look fool you. Some company is better admired from a distance. Look, don’t touch. He’s wild, and bad company.
